PA 46 c. 1975 Lajoie Field adjacent to Bernon Park. Named after Napoleon Lajoie, Woonsocket native enshrined in the baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York. Lajoie holds the American League record season batting average of .422 set in 1901 with the Philadelphia Athletics. Career total over 3,000 hits. Cleveland baseball team was once called the "Naps" in his honor. Was also manager. Along with Gabby Hartnett, is one of two Woonsocketers in the Hall of Fame.
